Even and only usually go in mid position, but if they refer to the subject they usually come before it.

e.g.: My mother has only brought some food.

The cats even show more affection than you do. 

Only my mother has brought some food.

Even the birds are quiet sometimes. 

When alone means that only one thing or person is involved, it comes after a noun.

e.g.: You alone should decide what is right for you.
