Would is used following the format: subject + would + base form of the verb (present)/ subject + would have + past participle form of the verb (past).

1) Would is used for things that are being imagined, such as: I would love to see the North Pole one day.

2) Would have done is used for actions in the past, like: She would have loved it if she saw this view.

3) Sometimes, would is used as past tense for will/won't, for example: Henry said that he would vote for you if you ran for office.

4) One can also use would to speak of something done regularly in the past, like: When we were kids, we would constantly play in that garden.
