References are presented in two ways in scientific publications.
At the end of any document such as journal article, book or book chapter, a list of all the references that contributed to the work is made and is called references, reference list, or bibliography.
Within the text these references are presented in an abbreviated format pointing towards the end references.
They are called, end references and in-text references respectively.
