Good synthesis requires the following:


The use of sources/ quotes/ideas whose topics are related to the ideas of other sources the writer has selected, and which are in turn related to the topic the writer is addressing.


A clear presentation of each of the ideas to be synthesized.


Naming, classification, and explanation of the point of intersection, that is the writer must give a specific name to the point about which the sources/ideas agree, disagree, or build upon one another.
